Thinking Ahead

We're Looking for Our Youth!

Especially those who aren't kids any more! We want to be sure to invite everyone who was ever involved in the life of Mesa Verde UMC as a youth to attend our next anniversary celebration March 7th. But we're not just sure how to get in touch with them. If you fit the bill or you know someone else who does - and you know where that person is now - please let the church office or Lynda Wood (aka Mrs. G.) know ASAP! We need e-mail addresses!

Prayer Shall Ministry

Calling all women of the church! UMW's national organization is asking for prayer shawls and baby blankets to be displayed at their quadrennial conference in St. Louis at the end of April and then distributed to mission institutions. The project will be handled through the Knitting Circle. For more information, contact Mary Renner.

Office Help Needed

Shannon needs people to fold worship bulletins on Friday mornings. If you're available from 10:30-11:30 a.m., please let her know.

Please pray for the people of Haiti, and for the family of Dr. Sam Dixon. Rev. Dixon, head of UMCOR, the humanitarian relief arm of The United Methodist Church, was in Haiti at the time of the earthquake; he did not survive.

What's New

UMW is hosting its first brunch of the year. The program will be "A Walk Trhough the Smithsonian," with amazing photos by Tom Getz. And, guys, we figured you wouldn't want to miss this one, so  you're invited! Sign up on the patio before Feb. 13!

What's Up

Pancakes galore, part of what seems to have become an annual Mardi Gras cluster event. This year it will be held at Huntington Beach First UMC on Tues., Feb. 16. For more information, click here.

What's Hot

Or should be say, What's Cold! Winter camp is right around the corner. Theres hiking, sledding, snowball fights, games, story telling, the imfamous talent show, and good fellowship. Click here for more details.

What's Ahead

It's ANOTHER anniversary celebration! This time we're going to recognize 40 years of youth participation in the church, including about 30 years of youth work teams. Mark the date: March 7th. For more information, contact the church office or Lynda Wood (aka Mrs. G.).
