S.O.S. provides many services including medical, dental, food, financial, clothing, counseling, legal aid and special seasonal programs that help many thousands of our neighbors who live in poverty. Facts
  • Approximately 11% of children under the 18 years of age live in poverty in Orange County.
  • Only 11% of OC residents can afford to buy a home.  This was before the current economic crisis.
  • There are an estimated 35,000 homeless people in Orange County.  Most are employed and 70% have children.
  • 380,000 people in Orange County are at risk of hunger and malnutrition on a daily basis.
What can you do?
  • Please bring non-perishable food items to the church during July.
  • There are food bins in the Narthex or drop them off in the church office on Monday-Friday from 9am—2pm.

Share Our Selves is one of the largest, most comprehensive, voluntary support agencies providing for the needs of those living in poverty in Orange County. All services are free and include: medical and dental care, counseling, case management, food, clothing, financial assistance, legal aid, and special holiday programs.  Founded in 1970 by a group of concerned individuals, SOS clients include the homeless, uninsured, unemployed, single parents and families that work full time, typically have two incomes, and still barely make living expenses. SOS provides the bridge sometimes needed to remain self-sufficient.
