Welcome to Mesa Verde United Methodist Church!
Thanks for visiting us online.
We are a caring and accepting family of seekers, believers, and doubters. We are united in knowing we love one another and that God loves us. We are open to everyone—those with questions, those looking for a spiritual home, and those with faith stories to tell. We believe in growing in grace, having fellowship and fun, and in making a difference in the world.
Mesa Verde UMC is a reconciling church. We affirm that through God's redeeming love for all, we are one in Christ. We respect the inherent and valuable contributions each member makes to the body of Christ. We celebrate our diversity and recognize the sacred worth and dignity of all persons regardless of sexual orientation, gender identification, race, age, ethnicity, physical or mental capacity, education, or economic or marital status.
The Brown Bag Program days for this month are Nov. 14 and Nov. 25.

In the Know
20th Annual Interfaith Celebration of Thanksgiving
MVUMC choir members will participate in this annual event, which will be held Sunday, November 23, at 7 pm. Location is Newport Harbor Lutheran Church at 798 Dover Dr., Newport Beach. Other choirs include the Newport Harbor Lutheran Church Chancel Choir, First Drops Singers, Baha’i Light of Unity Choir, Devin Duquett of First Church of Christ Scientist, and the Polynesian Missionary Singers of the Church of Jesus Christ, Latter-day Saints. All faiths and ages are invited and welcomed! Those who attend are encouraged to bring two cans of food per person to help feed the hungry in our communities. For more information, contact Matthew Martinez or the church office.
Bible Study Led by Pastor Brent
Pastor Brent leads a weekly (more or less) Bible study on Wednesday mornings at 9:30 am. Everyone is invited. We meet in the conference room in the Administration Building.
Sunday School children should go into church first thing for a Moments with Children. Then they will go to their classes.
Emergency Cards Now Available
Have you filled out your emergency card yet? Everyone is encouraged to do so and turn it into the church office. The info on your card can save precious time if it is necessary for us to call the paramedics while you are at the church. It also provides us with contact information for your family should we need to reach them. We realize the cards contain personal and private data. Be assured that they will be kept in a secure location in the church office and that your information will be kept confidential. If you need a blank card, contact the church office or pick one up in the narthex on Sunday morning.
Prayer Request Cards
Green prayer request cards are available on Sunday mornings in the seat pockets of the chairs. You are welcome to fill out your prayer requests in order that they may become a part of the prayers of the community. Your prayer requests can also be communicated with the office in this way so that they will be included in the prayer chain.
The new flower chart is up in the narthex. Please sign up to put flowers on the altar. Fresh cut flowers from your own garden (no, you can't pick the neighbors' blooms) are welcome!
Brown Bag Food Distribution Program
Mesa Verde UMC is honored to be part of Second Harvest's Brown Bag program. It is open to seniors 60 and over whose income does not exceed $1,354/mo. per person or $1,821/mo. per couple. We are in need of standard grocery store paper bags for the Brown Bag Program. Please drop them off in the kitchen or the church office.
We need greeters! Please take a moment to sign up on the bulletin board on the patio this Sunday!
