 In the Know

Winter Camp Gear

Just a reminder that the church has a couple of tubs full of winter outerwear, including ski jackets, gloves, hats, and boots. If you would like to borrow something, contact Barb Infranca.

See a Problem on Campus? Let Us Know!

Does a faucet fail to shut off? Does a door stick or refuse to lock? Is there a stain on one of the carpets? Are light bulbs burned out? Trustees are responsible for campus maintenance, but they don't always see the problem. And catching them on patio after service or at the grocery store not mean they will remember to follow up later. Jot it down on a piece of paper and stick it in the mailbox labeled Trustees in the fellowship hall. The sooner we resolve problems, the less it costs in the long run. Thank  you!

Adult Work Team Options

As a result of one of our Dreaming Sunday discussions, we decided we wanted to be more involved in our community.  There was a brochure that was distributed at the June 26 worship services. You can get a pdf version of it here.

Brown Bag Food Distribution Program

Mesa Verde UMC is honored to be part of Second Harvest's Brown Bag program. It is open to seniors 60 and over whose income does not exceed $1,354/mo. per person or $1,821/mo. per couple. There is no charge. Qualified participants may participate in other food programs, as well. See the calendar above for dates of distribution.

Greeters Wanted!

We need greeters at both services. Please sign up today. The form is on the bulletin board on the patio.

What's New

February in California means itching to get into the garden and knowing the season is not quite here. But that doesn't mean you can't use the time to plan! Mesa Verde UMW's February 11 potluck brunch scratches that itch with a program called, "Spring Gardening," and features UCI Master Gardener Tom Farrell. For more information, contact Barbara Stewart.

What's Doing

Becks Heyhoe, a speaker for the Homeless Consortium of Churches (of which we are a member), will bring us up to date on what's being done to help the homeless in Costa Mesa, what still needs to be done, and how the city, with help from organizations like this, are making it happen.  This is a real opportunity for our church to be in mission with those who truly need our help in our own backyard. For more information, contact Susan Shaw.
